Sentences in dictionaries(5)/Through difficulties

People who are walking come to a stop to see these beautiful flowers.

They are  utterly enthralled by full-blown flowers.

I found an impressive sentence in the dictionary.

When you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all.

(似たり寄ったりだから、一つを見ればすべてがわかる。)

Similar things attract each other.

Even though they have different colors,

they tend to have same thoughts in the basic aspects.

We can understand the contents by seeing characteristics.

It resembles people.

When we have experiences to pass through some difficulties,

we are obliged to distinguish what’s the best for them.

But if we have to take care of our way of thinking,

I’m sure that we can find the answer even if taking  much time to make a decision.

Every personality will change into precious gift by facing these difficulties.

Good sentences in dictionaries(4)/Basic framework

辞書のある暮らし

I often read many dictionaries and write down some sentences

that leave good impresions on my mind.

They are of use not only to communicate with others in English,

but also to learn English grammar and vocabulary.

1) There is something about him that pleases me.

  (彼といると楽しい)

  先行詞と関係代名詞が離れている。

2) You should listen to those who you think are honest.

      〈正直だと思う人たちの話を聞くべきだ)

Even one sentence has various uses by changing words.

Dictionary shows us how much important we should learn English fundamentals.

Good sentences(2)/As well as coffee

I look at green trees and leaves over a coffee.

Opening an English book,

Breathing deeply,

I feel grateful for this moment.

The words in the book energize me.

The  words make me warm as well as coffee.

Life is not about tomorrow;

it is about right now.

(いつでも引き寄せの法則P223)

There are beautiful sentences that people cheer up.

Every time we read good sentences in the book,

I’m sure that we will be able to live more simply and

understand what is important for our lives.

Good Sentences(1)/About Ryokan

Sitting in a terrace,

I feel satisfied with the scent of flowers.

It’s the precious moment when my spirit is enriched.

Reading books are very useful to improve the skill both in English and Japanese.

When I find good sentences in books,

I usually write down them in a notebook and read them over again.

Then I can see more clearly what they are saying including many grammars.

Books give me lots of imaginations and powers.

As long as I keep these moments,

I’m sure that I will go step forward.

【僧:良寛のお話】*私流和訳です。

月の輝くある夜のこと。

良寛は森の端までぶらりと散歩に出かけ、

しばらくの間、木々の下に腰掛け夜空を眺めていた。

美しい月の輝きを眺めていると、時が経つのをすっかり忘れていた。

小屋に帰る途中、良寛は窓越しに光がもれているのに気づいた。

「変だな・・」

彼は静かに小屋に進んで、部屋を開けるやいなや、

泥棒が何かを盗んでいた!

(Sentences in a book about Ryokan)

One night when the moon was shining brightly,

Ryokan went for a walk to the edge of the woods,

where he spent some time sitting under the trees and gazing at the night sky.

While gazing at the beauty of the full moon, he hardly noticed the time pass.

On his way back to his hut, he noticed a light shining through one of the windows.

“How strange,” he thought. He quietly made his way to the hut and ,

on opening the door, found a thief looking for something to steal!

Sentences in dictionaries(3)/Relative

辞書のある暮らし

I look into the meaning of “What” in the dictionary.

It is very convenient to make sentences for using “what”.

*What =that which

*What I really need is a book that makes me positive and happy.

      〈私が本当に必要としているのは、前向きで幸せにしてくれる書物です。)

*What is done is done! (終わったことは、もういいじゃないか!)

*What has been done cannot be undone. (すんだことはすんだこと!)

We can easily hear negative words around us,

so it’s sometimes hard to find out good and nice sentences.

However, even though we hear uncomfortable contents,

whenever we can imagine good things in our mind,

we can smile and hope our future.

Life is up to our way of thinking.

Dictionaries teach me some good hints to encourage our mind and spirit.

Sentences in dictionaries(2)/Connotation(2)

虎の巻

It’s fun for me to read and study English through dictionaries.

I make a profound impression not only to understand both Japanese and English,

but also to read between the lines.

I saw many adverbs modified some adjective phrases.

These sentences make me drive more imaginative power about
how beautiful she is.

The power of language also spreads life force at the same time.

*She is very beautiful. (彼女はとても美しい)

*She is extremely beautiful. (彼女はものすごく美しい)

*She is breath-takingly beautiful. (彼女は息をのむほど美しい)

*She is stunningly beautiful. (彼女は気絶しそうなほど美しい)

Sentences in dictionaries(1)/Connotation

Dictionaries have the miraculous powers of language.

I looked up a word, “very” and found kinds of synonym.

very =truly

*It is very cold.(とても寒い)

*It is mighty cold.(ひどく寒い)

*It is awfully cold.(ひどく・とても寒い)

*It is terribly cold.(ものすごく寒い)

*It is dreadfully cold.(恐ろしく・ものすごく寒い)

*It is extremely cold.(きわめて寒い)

A word gives a vivid impression.

Our communications will spread deeply in our mind

by the persons who use these words.
